Juan Manuel Alesson acts as coordinator. Why a news magazine?Because it is important that an independent news magazine is produced on a regular and professional basis, essentially, but not exclusively for, Brits and other ex-pats living in the Mazarron area. As a free magazine, the Journal must retain the support of its advertisers in order to produce any degree of editorial. What is clear about this area is that there is a great deal of fiction and rumour promoted in the absence of a serious news medium. What will you find on these pages?A mixture of news, local and national, together with relevant features and jokes to keep a sense of perspective. We will publish news from every relevant source, local associations, state web sites, individuals and businesses. We aim to promote a forum for British businesses in the area. EditorialThe magazine itself consists of editorial which is split between news and features. There are regular features written by a range of contributors, including an article on the port and Bolnuevo, tales from Finbar, Spanish lessons by Pilar, alongside golfing by John Brown and occasional articles on walking, local flora and fauna, bird life, Spanish history, the inevitable jokes, short stories, by Fiona aka Sinbad, Heather, Out and About and entertainment reviews by Rod Sawyer. News includes articles on our local committees, Political Parties, local regional and national government, the economy, news about people. The magazine has built a reputation as a "must read" publication. What's OnOur What's On section in the middle of the magazine is an informative list of events happening throughout the month at the establishments who advertise on these pages. This is a very popular feature of the magazine and gives it a longer shelf life. We will put your logo with information on the page and list your telephone number in the directory. You will receive a phone call every month just before we go to print so we can gather any relevant information for that issue. The What's On pages are for a six month minimum and costs 90 Euros plus IVA. The AdvertWe can produce an advert for you to your satisfaction in colour or black and white or use an existing one of yours, providing the resolution is a minimum of 300 dpi. This service is free to customers although the advert may only be used in the Journal unless negotiated otherwise. We can also produce flyers, business cards and a variety of support material for your business, at highly competitive prices. PaymentAll adverts must now be paid in advance. Printing and allied costs mean that credit cannot be carried. Our charges are highly competitive; they include not just the advert but access to all our readers on the internet. The Journal is now an independent magazine and subject to IVA. This will be assimilated within our charges for existing customers, but added for new ones. |
